High Chair

The High Chair, or Electric Chair, was created to teach alignment and strength in an upright position — reinforcing posture and functional movement. The High Chair, sometimes called the Electric Chair, places the practitioner in an upright, supported position to refine posture, alignment, and controlled movement. With its tall backrest, sturdy pedals, and spring resistance, it teaches the mechanics of sitting, standing, and climbing with precision. Though less known than the Reformer or Cadillac, the High Chair remains a cornerstone of classical Pilates — a true embodiment of functional strength and mindful movement. Every High Chair we produce in Sweden maintains the authentic proportions and resistance balance envisioned by Joseph Pilates, ensuring an experience that is both historically faithful and biomechanically sound.
